I think there is a good case to argue Franklin's elbow was careless rather than intentional.

Ryan was moving to stand up just as Franklin started the action. If he was standing up properly, it would have got him in the chest.
It will be incredible if it is graded intentional

In Buddy's favour: he wasn't looking anywhere near the bloke at the point of contact or afterwards, and immediately after contact his arm straightened out. Deliberate elbows don't do that. Finally, no injury at all suggesting essentially no force, which lines up with the arm continuing to straighten after contact.

Was clearly an elbow to the head and that deserves a week. But it was also clearly a careless fling of the arm backwards to get his opponent off him which happened to connect elbow to face, rather than a deliberate strike with the elbow.

Yep, I remember the Fritsch elbow , what was that graded as that was a more ‘traditional’ elbow if you know what I mean, if that wasn’t intentional this won’t be. It will be a week which is fair enough.

He has 2 instances of undisciplined behaviour in the game and was already pulled up for a couple a match or two ago. One week off wouldn't be a surprise.

Can i say how happy i am to see Blakey looks to have found a position he can contribute and ironic its in defence! small sample size tho!

We all knew Heeney can do this its just he doesn't back it up to often.
Heeney seems to have licence to roam. He doesnt seem to have a set position as such in my opinion. He pops up on the wing, forward inside 50, defence etc.
He can play all over the park. This is his asset as a player. Opposition teams cant really tag him !

In the aftermatch presser Horse was asked what he said to Buddy on the bench just after. Horse lied through his teeth. Pretty sure it was something like "pull your bloody head in and don't muck things up".
m = f

Back from the game and another solid performance. Blakey was dominating in the first half, took a hard knock in a pack and went off. Freo speed early was causing problems & Heeney's mark was sensational. Gulden has great game awareness. Parker, Kennedy Hewett & Hickey just keep on leading from the front. We seemed to ease off a bit in the last but Freo did try to lift but we were able to cope pretty easily. Another team ticked off.

They really can't. He's a bit of a nightmare matchup at the moment because he's all around the ground in these last couple of games. Possibly a result of him being tagged up forward - its a great move by Horse.

Right now the makeup of our list is exactly where we would have wanted it at the start of this season... We have the experienced heads and stars doing most of the heavy lifting... Mills, Parker, Kennedy, Papley, Franklin, Heeney, Rampe. We have the guys we all hoped would take the next step supporting them well in Florent, Cunningham, Hewett, Hickey, Hayward etc and the young guys have all tracked far better than we could have imagined, in particular Gulden, McInerney, McCartin, Blakey, Warner and Wicks. Below that we have enough depth to cover a few injuries too.

Good signs.

The Chad, Campbell, Buddy all rested up and ready for finals. Lots of competition for spots. Good signs.

Blakey down back is a win win.
Getting some value from him.
Funnily enough he's also our tallest back so gives us some much needed height back there .
Loved his run. Him and McInerney coming off halfback is a luxury. Pace and elusive run. Good delivery. Its exciting to see.
