Hawthorn have had a bad fortnight. Clarko blaming injuries last week, Stratton making Dane Rampe look sensible and Kennett suffering Eddie syndrome to distract from the fact they were whipped by Essendon last week.
Hawthorn have been very ordinary. They look like a team that is so busy following Clarko's instructions that they've forgotten how to play natural football. They are a very boring team to watch. I'd like to think that Longmire has given our players a bit of licence to take the game on the last month or so. Our game style has definitely improved while still maintaining our trademark pressure.
Hopefully that will all translate into a win but recent history would suggest it is going to be close.
I'd prefer we show no mercy and crush them like ants.

Doesn't matter about Hawthorn's form. They play well against the Swans by doing one thing that we never counter. They have outside players from the contest and it goes out to them unmanned.

It's weird when a player you really like and respect continually breaks your heart for a club you eternally despise. It's just so confusing. Sam Mitchell doing well against us was simple. He's unlikable no matter what so when he killed us you can continue disliking him.

FFS. I'm genuinely tipping Hawthorn to win this now.

I firmly believe we're a better team, but we're not so good that we'll just keep playing well every week. We're coming off a bye and Hawthorn play us well and have for years and now they'll have Roughead back and be all up for it. Clarkson is good at getting his team up from a loss too, particularly against us. Everyone is gonna tip Sydney but this screams Hawthorn win.

How about that faint praise from Clarkson? Essentially he made it sound like Roughie didn't set the world alight in the twos but Hawks couldn't take a mark inside 50 last week so they'll throw him in there in hope.
