International broadcast rights: we have a winner

Quick note for those with slower connections who might not have figured it out... If you pause the replay it will continue downloading in the background - unlike the old service. If you're having speed issues, just pause it for a few minutes and let it buffer. Overall impression so far is...

I do not think the Crows will win a final

We do have good history against Sydney, but dont under rate them - they are a very good side. Still, i have to agree with you - I feel a lot more confident against them than Hawthorn or Collingwood.

Patrick Dangerfield Will Be The Best Player in The AFL in 5 Years Time

How'd that work out for you? ;)

Preview Rnd 17, 18 and 19 Super Thread

Yep, this has been a noticeable trend. I havent had time to go back over the replays but I wonder if it comes down simply to personal. I think most would agree that the heart of out improvement this year has been the emergence of our first choice midfield and their ability to dominate...

News Sando on the couch Monday.

Haha, don't bet on it. We heard this after round 5 as well. Then we knocked off Sydney, Geelong, Carlton (who were considered good at the time) and went close against Collingwood. Not much changed. Fine by me ;)

Chris Knights in AFL.com.au 'Team of the week' as a sub.

I'm with you mate - as i think would be the majority of the footy public. Very strange approach and makes the already meaningless award even less credible :)

    9 subs? :p

Chris Knights in AFL.com.au 'Team of the week' as a sub.

At first glance i thought it had to be a misprint. After thinking about it a bit though, i wonder if that team selection criteria just compares all of the subs and names the most effective in that position. With 17 touches (and ignoring time on ground) it's entirely possible that he had the...

    Knights to Port?

Even if they cant do it officially they could certainly have put an offer to him as teams have with Cloke.

Combined Kurt Tippett contract negotiation/trade possibility thread

Yeah, you have. As I said, you've made your intent clear. Now, it's past your bed time - the adults are talking. Bay 13 is that way --->

Combined Kurt Tippett contract negotiation/trade possibility thread

Guys, this kid flagged his intent to troll Adelaide supporters in a thread on the Brisbane board. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/operation-get-tippett.940056/page-13 The world is full of idiots. I'd suggest ignoring this one..

Combined Kurt Tippett contract negotiation/trade possibility thread

The trade week article on the Brisbane website made for interesting reading. I think it also gives a bit of insight into what they might be willing to offer in this year's trade week if he remains unsigned. They were willing to do pick 8, or pick 12 and another pick. That was in a draft pool...

    Toast Sauce

Struggled with Naitanui's leap in the NAB cup.

    Toast Sauce

Agreed. I'd go further and say that his footskills are exceptional for a ruckman, and better than a good number of smaller players.

    The WCE-Geel-Ess triple pack blowtorch

Agree with all the talk here on Jacobs. It's been mentioned elsewhere, but if we can build a good lead by 1/2 time then I think subbing him is the best policy. Jenkins may lose out to Giles in the Ruck, but not by enough to make 5-6 goals difference.

    Hendo as a Key Forward....

Have to strongly disagree with this. I read an article last year where he was interviewed, and asked what the hardest thing converting to footy from basketball was. He said that it was the physical side - and it showed. He looked like a guy who was afraid to take a hit, (understandable for a...

Combined Kurt Tippett contract negotiation/trade possibility thread

Who needs Kurt when we have Ricky Henderson? ;) Seriously though, I still think he'll sign. I wonder if his couple of concussions might even help. A gentle reminder that while his stock is high now, it can all change very quickly with a serious injury.

    McIntyre upgraded

The preseason is a while back now, but from what i remember he was happy to put his head over it. Certainly didnt look like a problem.

    Lewis Johnston

I still think it was a good trade. You have to keep in mind, at the time Walker was on a 1-year extension and Tippett's future is uncertain even now (although i think he'll stay). Our tall stocks were low after losing Davis/Bock and we badly needed depth. We added talent in Johnston/Lynch at low...

    Kurt Tippett trade talk

Priority picks as they were in 2009 have been scrapped this year. There is no longer a hard and fast "win less than x games, get y pick" type formula. The AFL will now decide whether teams will receive a priority pick, and what pick that will be.

    Brad Crouch

Yeah scary though. Certainly opens up the possibility of them having a Geelong-like draft and building a strong core to top tier players.

    Please Explain

I was thinking about the lack of a reserves team the other day, wondered if we could unofficially partner with an SANFL club. Lets say Sturt for example since they have a good number of young Crows already. We could kick some money to them each year, and in return they could agree to draft...

    Brad Crouch

Just adding to this, they're not able to use compensation picks for F/S bidding which rules out their pick ~4 & ~12 They dont get to explicitly choose which pick they use anyway. It's just the next available pick after the highest bid from another club.

Talia.... Why isn't he getting the love he deserves?

Had to bump this after the Richmond game. Fast becoming one of my favourite crows. Great game again. Shut down Reiwoldt when moved onto him after a fast start. Loved his mark backing into the pack (in the 3rd?) as well.

    Chris Knights

Seems like he's been around forever, but he's still only 25. He's shown that at his best he is a very very good AFL player and if he can get past his injury troubles then I think he's every chance of getting back to that level. I thought he did o.k on the weekend and I'd like to see us persist...

Haha, now I'm looking forward to tomorrow's thread linking bigfooty posters to their political counterparts.

    Don't boo Ivan!

I'm with you. Love the big fella and even dislike Richmond a little bit less since he went there. (Just a little bit)

    Beware the Barbarians

There it is - surprised he got away with it for that long. While "ranked 16th in the tackle count" sounds bad, the reality is that West Coast (Avg 61) is below us (avg 63), with Collingwood (avg 64) and Essendon (avg 65) around the same mark. As far as I'm concerned that makes the average...

It's time to see Luke Brown

I havent seen any of Kerridge in the SANFL (living OS), but I've been watching his stats from week to week and it doesnt look as though he's been setting the world on fire. Can anyone who sees a bit of Sturt shed any light on his role there and how he's been playing?
  30. A

What went wrong and how do we fix it for the run home?

If we're talking purely form/development of a young player then I'm with you. But the discipline issue changes things. It's not the ones game either - he's given away silly free kicks in every game I've seen him play. (25 frees against in 16 games last season).
